Kim has over 30 years of experience in the fitness industry. After learning about the advantages of Pilates after giving birth, she left her job as a licensed physical therapy assistant at St. Joseph’s Health in Paterson to pursue her passion as a Pilates instructor.
She received her classical Pilates certification from Power Pilates studying under Susan Moran-Perich and Bob Liekens, where she accumulated more than 1,000 hours of continuing education. With more than 4,000 hours of training, she combines methods from SOMA, FEET-Ness, Pilates, Yoga, and ELDOA to create a distinctive teaching style that prioritizes individual
attention for every student.
Kim’s unwavering love of anatomy drove her curiosity, and in October 2023 she earned her certification as an ELDOA 4 trainer, demonstrating her commitment to become an expert in spinal decompression exercises. The goal of ELDOA is to lengthen and decompress the spine, to enhance mobility, lessen discomfort, and improve posture. ELDOA entails specific postures that target your body’s myofascial chains, focusing especially on the spine. Eldoa seeks to improve spinal alignment and joint space by precisely tensioning these chains, which will enhance general health and function.
Deepening her knowledge of body alignment and functional movement techniques while engrossed in Soma training, she is demonstrating her dedication to improving anatomical knowledge and advancing the physical well-being of others through specialized training methods. Additionally, Kim embraced her job as a Feet-ness instructor, focusing on exercises meant to strengthen the feet and emphasize their critical role in overall body function. Since the feet are the basis for proper body alignment, feet-ness exercises work to strengthen these foundational tissues, which can improve posture by giving the body more support and stability.
