INTRODUCTION
At Authentic Pilates Learning Center LLC, we take education very seriously. Our teacher trainers have almost 50 years of collective experience, we have a large, fully equipped studio, a superior dedication to our program, and hundreds of satisfied clients who will attest to the fact that our knowledge and caring has contributed to their improved physical condition.
Our name, Authentic Pilates Learning Center LLC, describes who we are and what we offer. For us, “authentic” means we have been trained by Joseph Pilates’s first protégé, Romana Kryzanowska. The work we pass on to our students comes directly from this original work without exception.
All applicants must complete a minimum of 35 hours of private lessons with one of our instructors prior to being accepted into the program. However, this requirement may differ at the discretion of the teacher trainer.
To begin the program, students must demonstrate proficiency at the intermediate level, and be able to apply the principles of Pilates. An assessment by a teacher trainer is required for admission.
Documentation from a physician is required attesting to the student’s ability to pursue a physically rigorous program.

Lineage is crucial in Pilates training and certification because it strictly adheres to the founding father’s teachings, which produced remarkable results. It is important to emphasize here that, as stated above, the Senior Master Teacher Trainer and Master Teacher Trainer at Authentic Pilates Learning Center LLC were trained by Romana Kryzanowska, Joseph Pilates’s first protégé. This makes Romana Kryzanowska a FIRST GENERATION instructor to Joseph Pilates. Our teacher trainers are SECOND GENERATION instructors to Joseph Pilates. Therefore, the students we certify at Authentic Pilates Learning Center LLC will be THIRD GENERATION to Joseph Pilates.
Authentic Pilates Learning Center is the primary center for the APLC Teacher Training Program, offering a variety of teacher certification programs and workshops in Mahwah, NJ.
We are a state-of-the-art 2,000 square foot Pilates studio, fully equipped with Gratz and Basil equipment, including multiple reformers, Cadillacs, high chairs, wunda chairs, towers, small chairs, pedi-poles, and auxiliary equipment. We employ nine certified classical Pilates instructors and we are open seven days a week, except for major holidays.
